We listed our plan in our facebook group and in our 'profile' on the voting website. Take a look at it. :)

Also, "her" is indeed the appropriate pronoun.

I have received further correspondence from Dr. Destler (which has also been made available to the RIT community through the "Ask President Destler" column of my.rit.edu).

There will be more on this later when I am in a better state of mind to write a full article, but for now those of us Beyond the Bricks can read our Fearless Leader's response here:

--- BEGIN DESTLER ---
I have received many questions related to my memo of January 14, 2008 to the RIT community on copyright infringement and have decided to address each one of them with this one response, which has been posted to the website.

The process described in the memo was developed with the understanding that the notices received by RIT are accusations, which is why no sanctions are immediately imposed when a notice is received. The only consequence of the first notice is that the student must acknowledge that copyright infringement is a violation of RIT policy. Once this is done, network connectivity is restored. The student is not asked to admit guilt in any way. A second notice will require that the student attend a session on Copyright and Intellectual Property, but again no guilt is assumed. If 3 or more notices are received for a single student, the matter is referred to Pubic Safety for investigation, which can result in a Student Conduct hearing.

Furthermore, the process allows a student to discuss the matter with an administrator if they believe the notice has been received in error. Each notice will contain an email address that can be used to ask that the notice be reviewed. Even if the matter reaches the Student Conduct hearing phase, the judicial process allows each student to have a fair and impartial hearing, with an advocate if so desired. RIT will certainly be diligent in these matters, but always with due process and fairness for the students. There is more information about the Student Conduct process on their website (http://www.rit.edu/studentaffairs/studentconduct/). You can also contact them at 475-5662 if you would like to speak with someone in person.

I hope this information answers the questions you have regarding the process we are implementing here at RIT with regard to copyright infringement.
--- END DESTLER ---

Cheers!

It still costs money. Anyway El Presidente Mr. Wolf actually got these got down to free. As cool a guy as he is, this in no way proves his effectiveness as a force for real change. It's a promising start though.

Next year, elect me! Not only do mudkips love me, I'm Kirby's long-lost twin, all your base are belong to me, and Pheonix Wright is my homeboy, I'M A FUCKING MUDKIP!

Good job, Anime club. You elected a president whose entire campaign was putting up posters that say "mudkip lurve alice" or some shit like that. May you be sentenced to an eternity of either "Gravitation" or DBZ, depending on your gender and sexual orientation.

Nothing personal, I just think that you need a collective bitch-slap. ESPECIALLY your new leader.
